Chhattisgarh Government, Home Department (Police) Notification No. F-348/2010/Home-2 Dated 06.08.2010: In accordance with the notification issued by the state government, for effective control over the Naxal problem, law and order, control over crime and criminals, and with a view to serving the public interest, the approval for the creation of a new police district under the revenue district of Raipur was granted, following which the Gariaband Police District came into existence. Subsequently, through the Chhattisgarh State Gazette, No. 332 Raipur, Tuesday, Dated 27.12.2011 (Poush 6, Shaka 1933), the Gariaband Police District was officially constituted as a revenue district with effect from 01.01.2012.

At the inception of the Gariaband Police District, a total of 05 police stations, namely Manpur, Devbhog, Chhura, Gariaband, Fingeshwar, and Bindranavgarh, were operating police outposts. After the district became a revenue district, the Raipur district's Rajim Police Station and 05 new police stations, namely Piparchhedi, Pailikhand, Shobha, Indagav, and Amlipadar, were approved by the state government. Out of the newly approved police stations, Shobha Police Station was established on 03.08.2012, Indagav Police Station on 20.03.2012, Piparchhedi Police Station on 29.03.2012, Pailikhand (Jugaad) Police Station on 18.07.2012, Amlipadar Police Station on 18.07.2012, and Panduka Police Station on 19.10.2014. Additionally, a police camp was established at Darreepra on 06.12.2012 and at Dhawalpura on 08.03.2015. Thus, the Gariaband district currently operates a total of 12 police stations, 01 outpost, 02 police camps, and 02 SDOP offices.
